We are re-focusing our efforts to support our members in state and local climate action and the upcoming election.

We MUST take ACTION to curb the changes of our earth’s climate and protect our grandchildren, their children and their children’s children.

We’re not stopping.

Just readjusting to a “changing climate”

As elders, we are often called upon to be flexible, to adapt to change and to be resilient. The ECA national leadership team was recently presented with a situation that demanded these qualities. Therefore, we have decided to cancel the Elders Climate Action Day in Washington, D.C.

We are pleased to let you know that rather than gathering in Washington, D.C. we will host a virtual webinar series, dates and times to be announced. Four webinars, spread throughout July and August, will include all of the amazing speakers we had lined up for the Elders Climate Action Day event, and will be available nationwide!

Many members let us know that they would have loved to be at ECAD but were unable to attend. So, considering our members have been slow to sign up, and recognizing the carbon footprint of an in-person gathering in D.C., we are switching gears. By moving to a webinar format we can reach more people and build a larger movement of elders dedicated to taking action on climate change in our own communities, and help change the conversation in the 2018 elections.

We’ll still keep the pressure on current and future Members of Congress through our letter campaigns, Candidates Pledge Climate Action project and more, we will also provide a number of tools, resources and information to help you get involved and make change from your hometown.

Save the fossil fuel and plan to join us from the comfort of your own home or host viewing parties in your community.

Watch for more info about the webinars on our website.
