Recently, the IPCC published the Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5 °C, a dire warning of the rapidly approaching dangers of climate change. The report illuminates what we see happening for ourselves: more frequent natural disasters and devastating storms, agricultural impacts, health consequences, and heavy economic impacts due to greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) into the earth’s atmosphere. However, the report suggests a much closer timeline than ever before. We must make significant changes to substantially lower GHG in the next decade, or face potentially dire consequences.

Largely it has been left to us, the people, to educate, convince and inspire others into climate action, to ask businesses for their commitment and action, to demand our elected leaders support climate legislation, and to build the political will to create change.

Our grandchildren, future generations and all life are depending on the choices we make now.  Solutions exist that can dramatically cut GHG and carbon in our atmosphere. It is our responsibility to make these solutions a priority. Talk to your elected officials and demand climate action. Use your vote and your voice, and commit to climate action. There’s no time to wait, the time to speak up is NOW.
